Over The Top French Toast

French toast is not something that I prepare often.  However, after trying some of the toppings listed below, I’ve made it several more times.





Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Agave Nectar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Half pint whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipping cream)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
  2. Generously butter a cookie sheet.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, Agave Nectar, salt, cinnamon and vanilla.
  4. Heat cookie sheet in oven for 1 minute, and remove.
  5. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, being careful not to tear bread.
  6. Place bread on hot cookie sheet.
  7. Bake until brown, about 8 minutes.
  8. While toast is cooking, beat whipping cream until fluffy.
  9. Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  10. Use syrup, preserves, etc. over your toast and top with whipped cream.

Twist:Various toppings, Cinnamon Bun Caramel Sauce, Raspberry Preserves, and Ginger Honey.
