Whipping Cream Pound Cake

Whipping Cream Pound Cake_edited-1This is a requested recipe from a friend.
I baked the cake for her and she said that she eat 3 pieces without stopping. She claims that it melted in her mouth.
Try it, you be the judge.


  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 pound butter, softened
  • 7 eggs
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Add half of the flour, mix well.
Add the whipping cream, mix.
Add the other half of the flour.
Add vanilla.
Butter and flour a tube pan.
Pour cake batter into pan.
Set in a cold oven and turn temperature to 350 degrees F.
Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, until a cake tester or sharp knife inserted into the cake comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
Remove from pan, cool completely.

Twist: One teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon lemon extract in place of 2 teaspoons vanilla.
